Plume is a distraction-free, local-first journaling app for Mac, iPhone, and iPad that stores every entry in an encrypted on-device database with no account and no servers. Its optional AI features, a custom prompt tool and an "Introspection" mode for spotting patterns across entries, are opt-in and BYOK: you enter your own API key for OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google, and data is sent directly from your device to that provider, or you can point the Mac app at a local model (e.g. via Ollama) to keep everything entirely offline.
